Privacy policy
This policy covers this website and the EKAM by Kiran and KJI Bag Details apps, run by Kiran Jewels India (“we”). It says what we collect, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it and how you can have it deleted.
This website
The website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no forms. Its pages, fonts and images come from this site alone. The horse and the diamond are drawn on your own device and nothing about them is sent anywhere. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser type) for up to 30 days to keep the site secure, then deletes them.
EKAM by Kiran
EKAM by Kiran (com.kiran.ekam) is for Kiran Jewels India employees. Accounts are created by our HR team; you cannot sign up in the app. In it you can sign in with your employee code, see attendance, apply for leave, request gate passes, read announcements and download salary slips.
What it uses
- Your employee code and password, to sign you in. The password is stored on our server only as a one-way hash.
- Your employee record: name, department, designation, contact details and photo, as held by HR.
- Attendance, leave, gate passes, holidays, incentives and salary slips: the records HR already keeps about your employment.
- A push notification token from Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can tell you when a leave or gate pass is decided or an announcement is posted.
- Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint, if you turn it on, to open salary details. This check happens on your phone; we never receive your biometric data.
- A sign-in token kept on your phone, so you stay signed in. Signing out removes it.
We use this data only to run the app and to manage your employment. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it and the app has no third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
KJI Bag Details
KJI Bag Details (com.kji.bagdetails) is for workshop staff: scan a bag barcode to look up the piece, metal, weights and stones in that bag. It uses the camera only to read the barcode, on the device; no picture is taken or stored. It has no accounts and collects no personal data. The bag number is sent to our own server to fetch the details.
Who else sees it
- Our HR, payroll and IT staff who need it for their work.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers the apps talk to, under contract and only on our instructions.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), which delivers push notifications. It receives the device token and the notification text.
- Government bodies, auditors or courts, where the law requires it (for example tax, provident fund and labour records).
We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Security
The apps talk to our server over HTTPS. Access is limited to the staff who need it, passwords are hashed and salary details sit behind a second check on the device. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
How long we keep it
- Your app account and push token: until you ask us to delete them or you leave the company, whichever comes first.
- Employment, attendance and payroll records: for as long as Indian labour and tax law requires, usually up to eight years after you leave.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or completed, have it erased, withdraw consent and name someone to act for you. To delete your app account, follow the steps on the delete your account page. For anything else, write to privacy@kiranjewels.in. We reply within 30 days.
Children
The apps are for our staff and are not meant for anyone under 18.
Grievances
Our grievance officer can be reached at privacy@kiranjewels.in, Kiran Jewels India, Mumbai, India. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and, for material changes, tell app users in the app.
